About Me
My Story
I’m Remmel, the stylist behind HairbyRemmel. With over 25 years of salon-based and mobile hairdressing experience, I have worked with a wide range of hair types, textures and styles.
My career has taken me through salons, cruise ships, mobile work and education, and for the past eight years I have also been supporting and teaching the next generation of hairdressers.
At HairbyRemmel, I specialise in textured, Afro and curly hair, while also offering colour, cutting, smoothing treatments, styling and bridal hair. My aim is to create a calm, welcoming space where every client feels listened to, cared for and confident in their hair.

Professional Afro & Textured Hair Training for Qualified Stylists
My courses are designed to help qualified hairdressers develop the confidence, knowledge and practical skills needed to work with curly, coily, Afro and textured hair.
Through hands-on training, you'll learn professional techniques that can be applied immediately within your salon, helping you provide a more inclusive service and expand your client base.

HairbyRemmel Salon Policy
Curls, coils and everything in between.
At HairbyRemmel, every appointment is booked with care, time and preparation. These policies are in place to protect appointment times, maintain professional standards and ensure every client receives the best possible service.
Deposits
A deposit may be required to secure selected appointments, including colour services, smoothing treatments, bridal bookings, longer appointments and new client services.
Deposits are deducted from the final appointment cost.
Deposits are non-refundable if the appointment is cancelled late, missed, or rescheduled without enough notice.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or appointment changes.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in the loss of your deposit or a cancellation fee.
Repeated cancellations may require full payment upfront before future bookings are accepted.
No-Shows
A no-show is when a client does not attend their appointment without notice.
No-shows will result in the loss of any deposit paid.
Future bookings may require full payment in advance.
Lateness
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, your service may need to be shortened, changed or rescheduled depending on the appointment booked.
If there is not enough time to complete the service safely and professionally, the appointment may be cancelled and your deposit may be lost.
Skin Tests & Patch Testing
Skin tests / patch tests are required before selected colour services, tinting services or chemical treatments.
A patch test must be completed at least 48 hours before your appointment where required.
If you have not completed the required patch test, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
Patch testing is required for your safety and cannot be skipped.
Colour Consultations
Colour services may require a consultation before booking, especially for:

damaged or fragile hair
During your consultation, we will discuss your hair history, condition, desired result, maintenance and suitability for the service.
A strand test may be recommended before proceeding with colour.
Hair History
Please be honest about your hair history, including previous colour, bleach, relaxers, texturisers, smoothing treatments, box dye, henna or any chemical services.
This helps protect the health of your hair and allows me to give the safest and most realistic advice.
HairbyRemmel reserves the right to refuse or amend a service if the hair is not in suitable condition.
Service Results
Every client’s hair is different, and results may vary depending on hair condition, texture, colour history, length, thickness and previous treatments.
Some hair goals may take more than one appointment to achieve safely.
The health and condition of your hair will always be prioritised.

Appointment Preparation
Please attend your appointment with your hair in a suitable condition for the service booked.
For textured, curly or Afro hair appointments, please follow any preparation guidance given before your appointment.
If the hair requires extra detangling, preparation or additional time, an extra charge may apply.
